Meet Our Team

Melissa started working for Dr. Bonaventura in 2007 as an intern while attending the Texas School of Business where she earned her Registered Dental Assistant license. She has worked in several areas of the office from taking care of patient's needs at the front desk, chairside with Dr. Bonaventura for several years as well as her current position as Office Manager. Melissa works hard to make sure each and every one of us meet patient's expectations and needs. She takes pride in us working as a team to achieve these goals. 

Tiffany joined our Pearland Periodontics Team in June 2022, and we are so happy that she did! She comes to us with many years of experience having been in the dental field for more than 25 years. She started her dental career as a dental assistant for 15 years and then transitioned to front desk, insurance, billing/collections and Treatment Coordination for the last 10 years. 

Tiffany is married to the love of her life and proud mom to 4 kids - Triniti, Tristin, Jayden and Skyler. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games, playing Dungeons and Dragons and watching anime.

Sophia started working in dentistry in 2008 and become a Registered Dental Assistant in 2010. She began working for Dr. Bonaventura in May of 2011 as her Dental Assistant before taking a leave of absence to give birth to her baby girl Natalia in mid-2013. Sophia couldn’t stay away long and has now taken on the responsibilities of surgical assistant to Dr. James and Dr. Sheng and as well as Patient Care Coordinator for the practice. With her experience chairside along with her warm personality she looks forward to spreading the word about the services and expertise that Pearland Periodontics has to offer. 

Sophia has been married to her husband Eric since 2002 and they have two wonderful children Marco and Natalia. She loves any time spent with family and friends, going to the movies and playing volleyball.

Tami joined the Pearland Periodontics team in 2018 as our Professional Relationship Director (PRD). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. In her role as PRD, Tami is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong professional relationships with referring doctors, while also driving the practice's growth through marketing and promotional initiatives. Additionally, she manages special projects and events, including overseeing the practice’s social media presence. With her extensive background in marketing communications and her approachable, enthusiastic personality, Tami is a valuable member of our team.

Outside the office, Tami is equally dedicated to her family. She and her husband, Mike, have called Pearland home since 2000 and have two children. In her free time, Tami enjoys shopping, working out, experimenting with Pinterest projects, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Ruby joined our practice in September 2023, and we’re thrilled to have her on our team! Originally from Alvin, TX, Ruby now proudly calls Pearland home. She graduated from the Dental Assistant Program at Alvin Community College in 2020 and has been working as a dental assistant ever since. Ruby serves as Dr. Bonaventura's surgical assistant, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients. Ruby enjoys running into our patients while out and about and loves building those personal connections.

Ruby is married to her husband, Ricky, and together they have five wonderful children: Marcus, Xavier, Marisa, Mari, and Jordan. In her free time, Ruby enjoys spending quality time with her family, decorating, and, of course, indulging in great food!

Marie is a proud graduate of the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston and has dedicated her career to private practice dental hygiene. With more than 40 years of experience, she is known for her commitment to patient care, her loyalty to her team, and her genuine passion for dentistry. Having known Dr. Bonaventura for over 20 years, Marie is honored to be part of her periodontal team.

Early in her career, Marie was an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association for two decades. Today, she continues to nurture her professional growth by attending local continuing education courses and staying connected within the field.

Born in Italy and raised across France, Germany, Maine, Florida, and Canada as part of a proud Air Force family, Marie developed a love for adventure and the outdoors at an early age. In her free time, you’ll find her hiking, biking, tending her flower beds, or relaxing at the beach.

Carley Day has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2016. She earned her degree from The University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. Before beginning her career in dental hygiene, Carley proudly served in the United States Navy.

She and her husband, Stephen, have been married for 12 years and are the proud parents of two children — their son, Everett, and daughter, Clemmie Kay.

Carley is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and takes great pride in helping patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits. She values building lasting relationships and enjoys learning about her patients and their families over time.

With over 23 years of experience, Polly brings both skill and compassion to Pearland Periodontics. A graduate of Lamar University, she has worked across multiple dental specialties—including periodontics, pediatrics, cosmetics, orthodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry—giving her a well-rounded perspective on patient care. She has also supported more than 90 practices in the Houston area as a temporary hygienist, earning a reputation for her adaptability and professionalism.

Known for her gentle touch and dedication to patient comfort, Polly is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles in a welcoming environment. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Eric, exploring new cuisines and wines, and spending time with family. She also dreams of one day moving to Colorado and filling her home with beloved animal companions.
